Event Production Graphic Designer
Company: Design Foundry
Location: Hyattsville, MD
Posted: Jun 25
Role Description
Design Foundry is seeking a full-time, on-site Graphic Production Designer to support the development and execution of event graphics, signage packages, branded environments, and marketing materials.
This role combines graphic design, production design, and quality control within a fast-paced event production environment. While there are opportunities to contribute to creative concepts, proposal graphics, and client branding initiatives, a significant portion of the work involves adapting established brand standards, preparing production-ready artwork, managing revisions, coordinating graphic specifications, and ensuring that finished products accurately reflect approved designs.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys bringing projects to life through careful execution, problem-solving, and collaboration. Success in this role requires equal comfort working on-screen and reviewing physical graphics, materials, and finished products to ensure quality and accuracy.
Responsibilities
Create and adapt graphics for events, conferences, exhibits, and branded environments.
Develop signage packages, wayfinding systems, sponsor graphics, stage graphics, and environmental graphics.
Prepare accurate production-ready files for printing, fabrication, and installation.
Apply and maintain client brand standards across multiple event deliverables.
Manage revisions, version control, and graphic asset organization across complex projects.
Develop detailed graphic packages that include dimensions, material specifications, production requirements, and installation considerations.
Collaborate closely with project managers, producers, fabricators, and vendors to ensure graphics are feasible, accurate, and production-ready.
Review graphic orders for accuracy, including sizing, quantities, substrates, finishes, and production details before release.
Perform quality-control reviews of printed graphics and finished products upon delivery, confirming materials, dimensions, colors, quantities, and overall quality meet project requirements.
Identify and resolve discrepancies between approved artwork, production specifications, and delivered products.
Support proposal and RFP development with presentation graphics, renderings, and visual concepts.
Assist with branding and creative design projects as needed.
Support on-site event installations and graphic-related needs when required.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in graphic design, production design, environmental graphics, events, exhibits, signage, or related fields.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
Strong understanding of print production processes, large-format graphics, substrates, finishing methods, and production workflows.
Ability to accurately prepare files and specifications for fabrication and print production.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to review and verify dimensions, materials, quantities, and production outputs with a high degree of accuracy.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working with branded environments, exhibits, trade shows, events, or architectural graphics is highly desirable.
Knowledge of fabrication processes and installation methods is a plus.
Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or equivalent professional experience.
What Success Looks Like
Delivering accurate, production-ready graphic packages with minimal errors.
Managing multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining quality and consistency.
Ensuring graphics translate successfully from design files to finished physical environments.
Identifying potential production issues before they become installation problems.
Maintaining organized documentation, specifications, and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Supporting a collaborative team culture focused on creativity, craftsmanship, and execution.
