We're a small, collaborative team looking for an Intermediate Industrial Designer to join us on a maternity leave contract. This role combines industrial design, product development, and visual communications, making it ideal for someone who enjoys contributing across a wide variety of creative and technical projects. This is a full-time, primarily in-office position based in Vancouver.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking design direction from the Creative Director you will aide in the development of design concepts through hand sketching, 3D CAD and prototypes (3D printing, 1:1 models)
- Create design-intent drawings, 3D files and other technical assets that you will communicate to our production partners.
- Material + Finish research, finish development, prototype evaluation.
- Assist in the creation of brand-correct visual assets and marketing materials, including catalogues, price lists, website content, renderings and product instructions, etc.
- Assist the sales and customer service teams with product inquiries, renderings, drawings, collateral, etc.
- Contribute meaningfully to discussions around future company endeavours – e.g. sustainability strategy, marketing & branding, technology adaptation, etc.
- Ad-hoc projects on request
- Degree in Industrial Design or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in industrial, furniture, or interior product design.
- Proficiency in Rhino and V-Ray, including modelling, rendering, and technical drawings.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Familiarity with SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is an asset.
- Strong sketching, visual communication, and presentation skills.
- An understanding and curiosity of materials and manufacturing processes, and product development.
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a collaborative, small-team environment.
- Photography, workshop experience, and knowledge of furniture or design history are considered assets.
- Eligible to work in Canada or willing to relocate to Vancouver.
We're looking for someone who enjoys moving between creative design, technical problem-solving, and visual communication. If you're adaptable, detail-oriented, and excited to contribute to a small design studio where your work has a direct impact, we'd love to hear from you.
