RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Project Director’s responsibilities are structured around three main areas:


Estimation and Bidding

  • Prepare bids and contribute to the development of strategies;
  • Negotiate agreements with subcontractors, including commercial terms, pricing, and risk analysis;
  • Review and approve contractual commitments;
  • Support Vice Presidents in contract negotiations with clients;
  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks upstream;


Execution

  • Lead and ensure the operational, financial, and contractual performance of projects under their responsibility;
  • Lead Project Managers and Superintendents, ensuring that work carried out on sites meets established standards and objectives in terms of quality, safety, labor relations, productivity, schedule, and costs, and implement corrective actions as needed;
  • Conduct monthly cost-control reviews with Project Managers and report findings to the Vice President;
  • Participate in recruitment, training, and allocation of human resources, and monitor the productivity of employees under their supervision;
  • Evaluate team members in accordance with company policies and support their development;
  • Ensure client satisfaction by meeting safety, cost, schedule, and quality objectives;
  • Lead project kick-off meetings, periodic reviews, post-mortems, and participate in planning reviews;
  • Manage legal matters or disputes with the Vice President and ensure proper documentation;


Governance

  • Ensure the application and compliance with EBC’s health and safety requirements and project-specific prevention programs;
  • Apply the company’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards and ensure procedures are followed by operational teams;
  • Collaborate with the Vice President to analyze, discuss, and manage legal files and disputes;
  • Ensure rigorous management of contractual matters through complete, compliant, and accurate documentation;
  • Support team development and engagement;
  • Contribute to the overall performance of the project portfolio;


REQUIREMENTS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in project management;
  • Experience on large-scale projects such as hydroelectric, infrastructure, or other relevant areas aligned with our project portfolio;
  • Bilingualism is an asset (French and English);
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access);
  • Knowledge of project management software;
