A Day in the Life
- The Senior Continuous Improvement Consultant provides consultation within the Munson Healthcare System. They partner with senior leaders and others to drive improvements in strategic initiatives, operational quality, efficiency and problem solving. The Senior Continuous Improvement Consultant has a strong understanding of the Munson Healthcare Alignment Framework (MAF) and principle-based leadership behaviors that align, enable and improve the organizational work of continuous improvement. They must possess in-depth knowledge of strategy deployment, quality management and lean improvement principles with experience in implementing improvement initiatives. The Continuous Improvement Consulting Specialist will educate, mentor and coach team members and leadership in the work required to accomplish measurable operational, business and clinical process improvements. They must be able to work with individuals, departments, care teams, value streams and/or service lines throughout the system, adjusting to the needs of varied customer populations and work settings.
What’s Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Nursing, or other professional discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- Ten or more years of leadership and improvement experience gained through the implementation of successful, organization-wide operational improvement projects in the healthcare industry and in an organization that is a size and complexity comparable to Munson Healthcare is required.
- Lean/LeanSixSigma certification or formal training and equivalent experience in the successful application of these methods with a demonstrated record of achieving favorable results is required.
- Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with employees from all areas of the organization including physicians and executives.
- This role requires strong listening and influencing skills, a high level of emotional intelligence and strong written, oral, visual and presentation skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively with organizational leaders as a change agent.
- Clinical experience in nursing, medicine, pharmacy or allied health profession is valued.
- Masters in Engineering, Business or Healthcare preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
