CGC Inc. is currently recruiting an Electrician for our gypsum quarry, based in Little Narrows, Nova Scotia.
It's a permanent and full-time position, offering a challenging opportunity for motivated individuals to demonstrate their technical abilities to troubleshoot and maintain crushing and quarry equipment within a large corporation.
Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities of the Electrician include:
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
- Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
- Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
- May install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
- Operation of test equipment.
- Cable pulling and termination.
- Cable tray installation.
- General electrical equipment installation
- Training will be provided to operate the ship loader and general Mill production duties as needed.
- Follow safety practices for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public in accordance with the company safety manual.
- Understand and implement personal and company safety by adhering to all safety requirements.
- Has a Canadian Red Seal Certificate of Qualification as an electrician or currently in school working towards the Red Seal Certificate.
- A minimum of two years’ experience is preferred in a manufacturing or mining environment.
- Maintenance and repair experience in heavy equipment such as drills, loaders, dozers, and other mining equipment.
- Experience with electronics is an asset.
- Demonstrates the ability to work safely.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
- Highly motivated, results orientated team player.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Well organized.
