The Department

The Multidisciplinary Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre (MAPrc), is part of Alfred Brain, Alfred Health Monash University Department of Psychiatry Central, and conducts clinical research projects with a focus on translation into clinical practice and the development of new treatments for people with serious mental illness. The Centre has more than 30 active trials and research projects in a range of domains including women’s mental health, brain stimulation and neuroimaging, neuropsychology, addiction psychiatry, psychopharmacology, service evaluation and service delivery research and health outcomes research.

The Role

The purpose of this position is recruitment of participants for current clinical treatment trials investigating the effectiveness of new treatments for serious mental illnesses including depression, schizophrenia and complex trauma disorder (also known as borderline personality disorder). The position will also be responsible for coordination of one or more clinical trials, including management of participants through the clinical trial process.

Essential

Skills and Experience

  • A degree in a relevant health science field with subsequent relevant work experience in mental health, nursing or other allied health discipline;
  • Demonstrated experience in subject recruitment with proven ability to establish rapport with patients
  • Clinical trials experience including experience in subject recruitment and retention
