Financial Analyst (FP& A) – Hybrid (Greater Chicago Area)

A dynamic and growing technology firm in the Greater Chicago Area, is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their expanding Corporate Finance team. Reporting directly to the Director of FP& A, this role is highly visible and perfect for a professional with 2 to 3 years of experience looking to accelerate their career, deepen their strategic impact, and gain mentorship from senior leadership.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will help build a modern, AI-enabled FP& A function. You will contribute directly to improving forecasting, strengthening financial accountability, and supporting faster, data-driven decision-making across the organization. This position offers a hybrid work model, blending collaborative in-office days at their Chicagoland office with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Modeling: Build and maintain models to support strategic scenario planning, investments, and operational decisions.
• Variance Analysis: Perform detailed monthly actuals-vs-budget and prior-year variance analysis to identify risks and trends.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Contribute heavily to the company-wide annual budgeting and long-range planning processes.
• Business Partnership: Partner with cross-functional department heads to deliver actionable financial insights and drivers.
• Executive Reporting: Prepare performance dashboards and financial packages for the CFO, VP of Finance, and senior leadership.
• Process Automation: Support ongoing workflow improvements, leveraging business intelligence, automation, and AI tools.
• Ad Hoc Analysis: Execute deep-dive financial and operational projects to support evolving business priorities.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a business-related field.
• Experience: 2–3 years of dedicated experience in FP& A, Corporate Finance, or Financial Analysis.
• Excel Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with proven experience manipulating large datasets and modeling.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to translate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
• Tech Stack (Plus): Exposure to ERP or BI tools (e.g., NetSuite, Solution7, Excel, Copilot) is highly preferred.
• Industry Context (Plus): Experience or interest in SaaS, corporate technology, or private equity-backed environments.
