The Opportunity
Reporting to the Team Lead or Supervisor, the Sanitation Associate performs routine cleaning tasks to maintain hygiene and compliance in production areas. This role involves cleaning floors, surfaces, basic equipment and waste removal using established procedures and industrial cleaning tools. The Associate supports Sanitation Technicians with less complex tasks and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS). This position is essential to maintaining a safe, clean, and audit-ready facility.
What You'll Do
Routine Cleaning & Equipment Operation
- Cleans floors, walls, drains, and surfaces using mops, brooms, scrapers, and scrubbers
- Operates tunnel washers, rack washers, and floor scrubbers safely and efficiently
- Performs sweeping, mopping, wiping, and waste removal in assigned zones
- Restocks gowning supplies, soap, hand sanitizer and gloves in production areas
- Follows SSOPs and GMPs for all cleaning activities
- Assists Technicians with equipment cleaning and setup
- Uses cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with WHMIS guidelines
- Wears required PPE and follows all health and safety procedures
- Reports damaged equipment, leaks, or safety hazards immediately
- Participates in safety meetings and training sessions
- Completes cleaning checklists and logs as required
- Supports audit readiness by maintaining clean, organized work areas
- Assists Housekeepers during peak periods with basic cleaning tasks in non-production areas

This means other duties may arise since we work together to ensure we support all business activities – seed to sale.
This role is on-site, which requires you to work on facility at all times in a Associate, Sanitation role or directly supporting operations.
This position Shift Time – Afternoon – 2:30pm-11:00pm.
What You Bring
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Certification in WHMIS is necessary (willing to obtain)
- Certification in HACCP is an asset
- Previous experience in cleaning, janitorial, or sanitation roles is an asset
- Experience operating floor cleaning equipment is an asset
- In-depth knowledge of sanitation procedures, chemical safety, and food safety regulations
- Basic understanding of cleaning procedures and safety practices
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to quality
- Team player with strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
- Adaptable and resilient in a dynamic, 24/7 production environment
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 40–50 lbs on a regular basis throughout the shift,
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when handling chemicals, tools, or equipment\
- Frequent use of hands for operating cleaning tools, equipment, and computers
- Frequent exposure to wet, cold, hot and noisy environments
- Must wear full PPE including gloves, goggles, aprons, waterproof boots and earplugs
- Able to work in dusty environment (not allergic to dust)
- Availability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays occasionally based on production schedules
