Main Function: Perform the duties of a Meterperson.
Characteristic: Under the supervision of the Water Meter Compliance Officer.
Duties
- Install, repair, test, calibrate and maintain all types of water meters.
- Required to read and record consumption flows on certain meters.
- Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS's Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education and Training:
- Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education.
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience in the maintenance and installation of meters and/or be licensed as a water meter installer.
- Ability to calibrate measuring chambers and gear trains, on all meters and test within specified regulations.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills in dealing with the public, staff and outside agencies in a courteous and effective manner.
- Must be able to effectively complete M.M.M.S. Crew Cards.
- Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.
- Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.
- Provide, at own cost, a Criminal Reference Check.
- May require the use of a CGS vehicle on CGS business. Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver's licence and have an acceptable driving record.
