Primary Objective Of The Position
Safe and timely processing of Cargo and aircraft loading/offloading within prescribed parameters.
Essential Position Functions
- Loading/offloading of aircrafts and trucks
- Operating ground support equipment
- Repeated and continuous lifting of packages up to 60lbs
- Sort packages based on customer, airport of destination, and other parameters
- Communicate piece counts, and package information to Lead Hands, and Supervisors
- Handle customer packages, and freight with due care and attention
- Ensure all safety and security protocols are adhered to
- Perform general housekeeping duties as required
- Perform tasks associated with Dangerous Goods Handling/Acceptance
- Meet time-sensitive deadlines for freight build-up/breakdown as part of a team dynamic
- Learn and apply specific training modules required for the position (WHMIS, SMS, Dangerous Goods, Hazard Prevention, etc.…)
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
- Working in and around aircraft daily
- High School Graduate or equivalent experience
- Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence or equivalent
- Ability to obtain a RAIC pass (Transport Canada Security Clearance)
- Ability to lift up to 60lbs repeatedly
- Ability to work within a “team first” environment, and complete common goals within time-sensitive deadlines
- Excellent punctuality, and attendance habits
- Ability to learn quickly, and adapt to fast-changing customer requirements
- Willingness to take direction with a keen interest in further development within the local operation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible to work shift work, weekends and stat holidays
- Be willing to be subject to a background check; clearance is required
- Be willing to work outside
