As a Server, you will support residents’ health and well-being by assisting with meal preparation and service, ensuring a safe, clean, and pleasant dining experience every day. What makes you a great fit?
- Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving and cleaning tables;
- Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef;
- Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department;
- Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures;
- Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour ready;
- Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness.
- Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Must have Serve It Right (SIRS) certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment;
- Must have Food Safe Certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment;
- 1 year experience in dining room service;
- Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team;
- Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process an asset;
- Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills required
- You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
- You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check
