Position Overview

Seeking a Director of Quality to lead its quality and regulatory compliance function. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with FAA and international aviation regulations while driving a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement across the organization.

This position serves as a key member of the leadership team and plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) while supporting strategic business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) across Part 145 MRO and AS9120 aerospace distribution operations.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, applicable foreign regulatory body requirements (e.g., EASA), and industry quality standards including AS9100, AS9120, and ISO 9001.
  • Serve as the primary quality interface with regulatory authorities, certification bodies, and customers, supporting audits, inspections, and ongoing regulatory surveillance.
  • Direct internal and external audit activities and oversee corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes to ensure timely, effective, and sustainable resolution.
  • Analyze quality performance metrics, warranty data, audit results, and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement initiatives and risk-based decision making.
  • Establish and maintain systems for monitoring quality performance, supplier quality, material traceability, and operational effectiveness across the organization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to integrate quality and regulatory requirements into daily operational processes.
  • Lead root cause analysis and structured problem-solving initiatives to address product, process, or compliance issues and improve reliability and performance.
  • Provide leadership for the quality organization, including hiring, training, talent development, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Lead quality management reviews and contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and enterprise-level operational improvement initiatives in support of business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aviation, or a related field preferred.
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in business aviation quality leadership, or ten (10) or more years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Deep knowledge of FAA regulations and airworthiness certification requirements, supplemented by direct exposure to EASA and other international aviation regulatory bodies, with proven leadership of quality systems in Part 145 repair station and AS9120-certified distribution environments.
  • Hands-on leadership experience overseeing AS9100 and ISO 9001 compliant quality management systems across complex aerospace operations.
  • Proven senior-level leadership experience within aerospace MRO and aviation services operations, with accountability for regulatory compliance, quality performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with ERP or production management systems preferred (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
