Join our FRC team within the Sulzer Pumps division of Sulzer Canada as a Mechanical Designer to help us take FRC to the next level.

Job Description

In this role you will be accountable for:

Modeling 3D layouts and creating drawing sets for installation and construction of our equipment and products using SolidWorks as well as AutoCAD
Preparing design concepts, sketches, or models of our equipment for approval
Consulting with engineers and production staff during manufacturing stage
Assisting the Applications Team to generate sales equipment and layout drawings
Preparing and interpreting engineering designs, drawings and specifications as they pertain to our equipment or layouts
Other duties and special projects as assigned

To Succeed In This Role, You Will Need

Experience with SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM or a related software package
Knowledge of SolidWorks modeling, sheet metal design and pipe routing
Familiarity with data management and revision control
Proficiency in MS Office (formulas, formatting, Outlook)
Experience in sheet metal design would be an asset
Experience with welding would be an asset
Experience using Autodesk Revit for draft and pre-construction drawings would be an asset
Knowledge of waste management, or water treatment equipment/industry would be an asset
Willingness to take occasional criminal record/drug tests for US clients

If you possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology/technician, drafting, mechanical design or similar discipline, take the next step and make the most of your design skills.

Location: We are based in Whitby, ON, with easy access to Highway 401.

Required: Valid Canadian passport and ability to travel to the US.
