The Opportunity
Lastwall is a Canadian cybersecurity company focused on identity and mission-critical operations across defense, government, and critical infrastructure.
Trusted by the U.S. Department of Defense and the Government of Canada, Lastwall has spent nearly a decade securing sensitive government environments. With FedRAMP Moderate Authorization, proven traction in the U.S. federal market, and growing demand for sovereign cybersecurity capability, we are entering a defining growth phase across Canada and the United States.
The Senior Director of Operations will work directly with the COO to turn strategy into execution. This is a highly analytical operating role focused on resource allocation, operating cadence, performance management, and cross-functional execution across Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, HR, and technical teams in Canada and the U.S.
The right candidate will bring structure and operate with urgency while making evidence-based decisions that align with the day-to-day operating rhythm of the company.
Headquartered in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and with offices in Vancouver and Honolulu, Lastwall is positioned to help strengthen North American cyber resilience.
The Role
- Operating Cadence & Execution - Support the COO in leading the company’s operating rhythm, including business reviews, OKRs/KPIs, execution tracking, and follow-through. Ensure priorities are clear, owners are accountable, and progress is quantified.
- Resource Allocation & Planning - Help translate company priorities into practical resource decisions across headcount, budget, time, and leadership attention. Partner with Finance, HR, Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering to ensure resources are aligned to growth, delivery, and operational efficiency.
- Performance Metrics & Business Analysis - Build and maintain the dashboards, reports, and analytical frameworks needed to manage the business. Track revenue performance, pipeline health, hiring plans, delivery capacity, product priorities, operating costs, and execution risks.
- Cross-Functional Leadership - Drive execution across teams without relying on formal authority. Help Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, HR, Customer Success, and technical teams stay aligned on priorities, dependencies, timelines, and tradeoffs.
- Operational Process Improvement - Identify bottlenecks, gaps, and inefficiencies in how the company operates. Build practical systems that improve decision speed, accountability, communication, and scalability without adding unnecessary process.
- Strategic Projects - Lead high-priority operational initiatives. This may include market expansion planning, organizational design, performance management, board reporting inputs, operating plan development, vendor reviews, or internal transformation projects.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of experience in operations, strategy or finance roles, ideally in a scaling technology company.
- Strong quantitative and analytical capability. You are comfortable with financial models, operating metrics, dashboards, scenario analysis, and evidence-based recommendations.
- Experience working across multiple functions, including Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, HR, Engineering, Customer Success, or technical delivery.
- Resource management discipline. You understand how to connect priorities to budgets, headcount, capacity, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
- Execution orientation. You can move from analysis to action, clarify ownership, track commitments, and keep work moving across teams.
- High judgment in ambiguous environments. You know when to add structure, when to simplify, when to escalate, and when to let teams execute.
- Strong communication skills. You can turn complex data and operating issues into clear recommendations for executives and functional leaders.
- Comfort in a small but growing company. You can operate without perfect systems, build what is missing, and improve the operating model as the business scales.
