About the Role

Lumina Advisors is seeking a talented and creative Remote Video Editor to join our growing content production team. This role is ideal for an experienced editor who has a passion for visual storytelling and enjoys transforming raw footage into engaging, high-quality video content. As a Video Editor, you will collaborate closely with producers, directors, designers, writers, and marketing teams to create videos that communicate compelling stories across multiple platforms. Projects may include social media content, promotional campaigns, commercials, documentaries, corporate videos, educational content, and other digital media productions. The successful candidate has strong technical editing skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects while consistently delivering polished content within established deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Edit raw video footage into compelling, high-quality productions.
• Collaborate with producers, directors, writers, and creative teams to understand project goals and creative direction.
• Develop engaging visual narratives using effective storytelling techniques.
• Trim, arrange, and sequence video clips to create seamless and impactful content.
• Add music, voiceovers, sound effects, transitions, motion graphics, and animations where appropriate.
• Perform color correction, color grading, and image enhancement.
• Apply visual effects and graphics to improve production quality.
• Ensure all video content aligns with company branding, style guidelines, and quality standards.
• Export and deliver videos optimized for various digital platforms and formats.
• Manage multiple editing projects while meeting production deadlines.
• Organize and maintain project files, assets, and media libraries.
• Stay current with video editing trends, creative techniques, and emerging technologies.
• Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative content ideas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Video Production, Digital Media, Multimedia, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of professional video editing experience.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality editing across multiple content formats.
• Experience editing content for social media, digital marketing, advertising, documentaries, corporate communications, or commercial productions.
• Knowledge of various video codecs, formats, and export settings.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection and appropriate editing hardware/software.
• Ability to manage projects independently while collaborating with remote creative teams.

Required Skills

• Strong creative storytelling and visual communication skills.
• Excellent video editing and post-production abilities.
• Advanced proficiency with video editing software, including:
• Adobe Premiere Pro
• Final Cut Pro
• Avid Media Composer
• Experience with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, or DaVinci Resolve is a plus.
• Strong understanding of pacing, timing, transitions, and cinematic storytelling.
• Knowledge of color correction, color grading, and audio editing.
• Familiarity with motion graphics and visual effects.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, or DaVinci Resolve is a plus.
