  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc.).
  • Experience developing or launching products or technologies within artificial intelligence or machine learning (AI/ML).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Deep domain expertise in workplace productivity tools, or unified communication platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate deep technical ambiguity, successfully taking 0-to-1 innovation initiatives to market while optimizing 1-to-N core platforms.
  • Exceptional executive presence, with the ability to build alignment across massive, matrixed organizations (such as spanning Google Workspace).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making and defining success metrics for complex, multi-faceted ecosystems.
  • Proven track record of building and launching enterprise products powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), or Generative AI/LLMs.

We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

In this role, you will have core messaging experiences for millions of global users while simultaneously driving the goal for Ask Gemini, our flagship generative AI integration. At the intersection of real-time communication and agentic capabilities, you will define a strategy that makes teamwork smarter, faster, and more intuitive. Partnering with engineering, design, and AI research teams across Workspace, you will navigate technical ambiguity to deliver magical, AI-first experiences that define the future of work.

AI will change the future of work in profound ways, and our products— Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar, Sheets, Vids and Meet are at the forefront. From pre-computed summaries for email threads, summaries for meetings, and videos created from a document using lifelike AI avatars, our AI opportunity is huge. Our mission is to meaningfully connect people so they can create, build, and grow together and as part of the team you can build how productivity tools should work 5-10 years into the future. You will work with model builders (Google DeepMind), work with exceptional leaders, and have the ability to impact billions of users across the world.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $240000 - $334000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Define and execute the multi-year product strategy and roadmap for both the core Google Chat experience and the Ask Gemini integration.
  • Own the foundational messaging platform. Drive product excellence, scalability, and a seamless, intuitive user journey for millions of global enterprise users.
  • Lead the end-to-end generative AI experience within Chat. Design ways for AI to deeply understand context, synthesize Workspace data, and proactively accelerate user workflows.
  • Steer large, matrixed organizations across Engineering, UX, and DeepMind to deliver high-quality, safe, and magical AI features.
  • Establish success metrics, influence executive leadership, and ensure product investments align with broader Google Workspace goals to drive growth and user adoption.
