As the responsible stewards of public funds, the Department of Finance partners to ensure value for money in the delivery of programs and services for Yukoners. The Department of Finance serves as the territory’s statistical body and develops the territorial budget, corresponding supplementary budgets, and Public Accounts for the territory. It is also responsible for negotiating, coordinating, and representing Yukon on inter-governmental financial matters with other jurisdictions. In its capacity as a central agency, the department works with all areas of government in the creation of their annual departmental budgets and in processing operational accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
The opportunity…
The FMIS Administrator supports the day-to-day operational requirements of the Government of Yukon’s corporate financial systems. This includes administering user access and security, maintaining financial system data, and supporting users across government.
The position is responsible for reviewing financial system transactions, including journals, and reviewing system reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information. A key part of the role is identifying discrepancies, ensuring information balances, and following up with appropriate areas to resolve issues.
The role also supports users by responding to requests and helping ensure transactions and processes are completed correctly and on time.

- Post-secondary coursework or training in accounting, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience providing administrative or operational support within financial systems or other complex business systems.
- Experience reviewing and processing financial transactions, such as journals or similar records.
- Experience working with financial data, such as general ledger accounts, coding structures, or other system records.
- Experience reviewing reports or data outputs for accuracy and completeness, including identifying and following up on discrepancies.
- Experience providing client support, including responding to requests and explaining processes to users.
