Step into the fast-paced world of professional sports with the Facilities Operations Internship at Tampa Bay Sun FC throughout the Fall Season. This opportunity offers behind-the-scenes access to the operations that make training, stadium events, and matchdays run smoothly — both at the team’s training facility and at SunCoast Credit Union Field.

This internship is ideal for students interested in sports management, event logistics, facility operations, or stadium experience coordination, and looking to gain hands-on, resume-worthy experience in the heart of a professional soccer organization.

This internship is eligible for college credit. A stipend is available for hours worked beyond required academic credit hours.

Key Responsibilities

Facility & Stadium Operations

  • Support daily operations and administrative tasks at both the team training facility and Riverfront Stadium.
  • Help oversee facility upkeep including:
    • Field maintenance and painting
    • Preventative maintenance tasks
    • Small-scale facility improvement projects
  • Gain exposure to how professional sports facilities are maintained and optimized year-round.
Matchday Experience & Logistics

  • Play a critical role in matchday prep and execution, assisting with:
    • Pre-game stadium setup
    • In-game operations and troubleshooting
    • Post-match breakdown and clean-up
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure a smooth, professional fan and player experience.
Project Coordination & Team Support

  • Assist with ongoing and long-term projects to enhance team facilities and optimize operations workflows.
  • Participate in cross-department coordination for special events, community activations, or large matchdays.
  • Be ready to take on varied tasks in a dynamic sports environment – no two days are the same!

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a college/university program (Sports Management, Business, Event Management, or related field preferred).
  • Available to work matchdays, evenings, and special events (including weekends).
  • Able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving equipment, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a team-first mindset.
  • Interest in professional sports operations and desire to learn from experienced staff.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Professional, positive attitude and strong communication skills.
