JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various mechanical and industrial maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of machinery and equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily inspections of the production lines.
- Conduct routine maintenance on general plant equipment to prevent potential failures and malfunctions.
- Keep logbooks up to date and adhere to the preventative maintenance schedule for all plant operating equipment.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
- Source replacement parts and coordinate their pickup
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
- Construct foundations for machinery or direct other workers to construct foundations
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
- Manage and prioritize urgent maintenance and repair tasks for plant equipment.
- Keep the maintenance tools and equipment safe, clean, and in good working order.
- Strive to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Maintain complete records of daily maintenance activities.
- Assist co-workers when needed.
- Following company policies and safety guidelines.
- Performing additional tasks or requests as needed.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A valid Ontario Millwright’s Certificate of Qualification.
- Experience in a manufacturing facility as a maintenance mechanic millwright, industrial millwright, maintenance millwright, millwright mechanic, etc.
Or
- Valid Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) and Licensed Electrician (Red Seal Certificate)
- Experience with Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electrical maintenance.
- Has a diverse experience in welding (tig/arc), fabricating, troubleshooting, repair, rebuilding, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical work, and general facility maintenance.
- Hands-on knowledge of pumps, conveyors, agitators, gear boxes, and compressors.
- Strong organizational, entrepreneurial, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with many different departments, and with all levels of management and staff to assist everyone in achieving their goals.
- Previous experience in industrial maintenance.
- Ability to weld and fabricate metal components.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and machinery.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
