We are committed to fostering a welcoming, dynamic, and inspiring workplace and company culture where our team members are inspired to create lasting impressions through warm, anticipatory service. How we want our guests to feel when staying with us is the same as…how we want our team to feel every day.

LEFT LANE’s flagship property is Hotel Bardo Savannah, named one of the best hotels in the world in 2024 by Travel + Leisure and Conde Nast Traveler. Hotel Bardo team member benefits include PTO and paid holidays, 401k matching, health and telehealth benefits, discounts on resort offerings like rooms, dining, shop and spa, complimentary onsite fitness classes, complimentary meals in our team member café and more.

Launching in the Fall of 2026, Recess Hotel & Club will transform Savannah’s storied Manger Building into a new kind of lifestyle hotel and clubhouse. With 221 rooms—including suites and bunk rooms—plus co-working, a rooftop pool, a circuit-based wellness club, a French brasserie, and layered social spaces, Recess is designed as a “public club”: a private clubhouse for all. Locals, members, and travelers will come together to eat, drink, work, play, and connect.

Left Lane is a vertically integrated hospitality development and management company focused on transforming historic, iconic properties into layered destinations that reflect their communities. With more than $1.5B in projects planned across Savannah, Memphis, Pittsburgh, Providence, Phoenix, and Bozeman, Left Lane is building a portfolio of hotels, clubs, and experiences that are both nostalgic and forward-looking.

Job Overview

The Director of People & Culture leads the on-property execution of all people-related initiatives, serving as a key partner to the General Manager and leadership team. Operating within a shared services model, this role ensures alignment with enterprise strategy while delivering thoughtful, consistent execution at the property level.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strength across the full HR lifecycle—from talent acquisition and onboarding through team member relations, performance, and compliance. The Director plays a critical role in shaping a culture that supports both team member engagement and the delivery of a high-quality guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary People & Culture partner to the General Manager and department leaders, translating enterprise strategy into effective on-property execution
  • Operate within a shared services model, partnering closely with the Vice President of People & Culture to ensure alignment and consistency
  • Lead on-property talent acquisition efforts, ensuring a strong, brand-aligned candidate experience
  • Oversee onboarding and training programs that reinforce culture, service standards, and operational readiness
  • Act as the primary point of contact for team member relations, providing coaching and guidance to leaders on performance, engagement, and team dynamics
  • Drive performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and development planning
  • Maintain HR systems (e.g., Rippling), team member records, and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and company policies, maintaining audit-ready processes
  • Lead culture and engagement initiatives that support a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment
  • Ensure the team member experience reflects the same level of care and intentionality as the guest experience

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within hospitality or luxury service environments
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a true HR generalist across multiple disciplines
  • Experience working within a shared services or multi-property model preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience in high-growth or pre-opening environments is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Ideal Candidate

  • A hands-on, pragmatic leader who is comfortable executing while setting direction
  • Builds trust quickly and operates as a credible partner to both leadership and team members
  • Able to navigate both people and process with clarity, keeping things practical and effective
  • Collaborative and comfortable working within a shared services structure
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and operational discipline
  • Adaptable and responsive in a dynamic, evolving environment
  • Understands how people strategy drives business performance
  • Naturally aligned with a service-oriented culture, bringing a thoughtful and consistent approach to the team member experience
