Job Description
AECOM Construction Management is establishing Data & AI as a core business capability and is seeking an executive leader to build, formalize, and scale this function.
This is a rare opportunity to scale and formalize an emerging Data & AI capability inside one of the world's leading construction and infrastructure organizations. The leader will inherit existing applications, analytics solutions, automation initiatives, governance structures, and stakeholder partnerships, with the mandate to transform them into an enterprise-grade function that changes how projects are delivered.
The Vice President, Data & AI Enablement will lead the strategy, governance, execution, and adoption of Data & AI capabilities across Construction Management. This leader will modernize and consolidate existing data environments, strengthen data platforms and governance, and deliver AI and automation solutions that improve project delivery, operational efficiency, risk management, and business decision-making.
This is a builder role. The ideal leader combines executive influence, technical depth, and transformation experience, with the ability to define strategy, build teams, guide architecture and platform decisions, and turn Data & AI opportunities into measurable business outcomes.
This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules to include both in-office presence and telecommute/virtual work, to be based from either Houston or Dallas, TX.
Key Responsibilities

- Modernize and consolidate the data ecosystem, including data platforms, data lake capabilities, integrations, governance, and scalable capabilities that enable analytics, automation, AI solutions, and improved operational decision-making.
- Own the AI and automation portfolio from opportunity identification through prioritization, delivery, adoption, and measurable business impact.
- Partner with Construction Management leaders, enterprise technology, cybersecurity, AI teams, and governance groups to align priorities, standards, investments, and adoption.
- Define and execute a roadmap to consolidate internally developed applications, workflows, and digital solutions into a scalable platform ecosystem.
- Provide technical leadership across data architecture, platforms, integrations, AI enablement, and technology roadmap decisions.
- Lead and scale a high-impact Data & AI organization across data platforms, governance, analytics, AI enablement, and program management, while developing capabilities through partnerships with business leaders and technical teams.
- Drive adoption through change management, stakeholder engagement, education, and enablement programs.
- Define success metrics and manage investments tied to adoption, efficiency gains, cost savings, risk reduction, and business value creation.
- A trusted data foundation that is more integrated, accessible, and scalable.
- Existing internally developed applications and data products are successfully scaled, governed, and integrated into a cohesive platform strategy.
- A formal Data & AI function with clear ownership, governance, and operating rhythm.
- AI and automation solutions deployed with measurable business outcomes.
- A clear roadmap is established for consolidating and scaling business-critical digital solutions into a unified operational ecosystem.
- Strong partnership between Construction Management and enterprise technology teams.
- A repeatable process for moving from business challenges to governed, supported Data & AI solutions
