About TFN
Toronto Field Naturalists (TFN) is a volunteer-run non-profit nature conservation organization.
We connect people with nature in the Toronto area, helping them to understand, enjoy, and protect Toronto’s green spaces and the species that inhabit them.
Key elements of TFN are nature advocacy, education (lectures, guided walks), stewardship/ conservation, and children’s programs. We are committed to striving to deepen the awareness of, and appreciation for, natural spaces and species.
The Board of Directors
TFN volunteer Board members provide governance, strategic advice, financial oversight, and act as ambassadors for TFN. Ideal candidates are committed to conservation issues, have skills to offer the organization, and can help build relationships with other nature organizations.
Candidates are expected to commit to a minimum of 3 hours per month, attend eight Zoom board meetings (Sept – May) per year, plus some committee membership work. Board placements are 2-year terms, renewable at the end of term. Most Board members renew repeatedly as the work we do is interesting and meaningful.
Candidates must live in the Toronto area and be comfortable with Zoom meetings.
