The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Manager, Service Delivery, this role is responsible for delivering food service in the Café at Town Hall. As a casual role, the staff will provide exceptional customer service, handle sales, and prepare café items, including food and concessions, for both the public and Town Hall staff. Additionally, the role ensures the Café and surrounding areas are maintained in a clean and organized manner, while contributing to a positive and welcoming environment.
- Make coffee and provide hot water
- Opening & closing duties of the Café – switch on/off all equipment and replenish supplies as necessary
- Prepare daily food items for cafeteria and catering
- Wash and sterilize dishes; wipe down cafeteria tables regularly; regular cleanup of equipment
- Submit weekly food & supply orders with multiple vendors
- Balance cash daily and remit to Finance for deposit
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who holds an Ontario Secondary School Graduate Diploma and has a minimum of one (1) year experience in food preparation. A post-secondary education in Hospitality, Nutrition and or Culinary Arts, a Food Handler Certification and POS experience is an asset.
We are seeking an individual with demonstrated ability to work quickly on all aspects of food service. The ideal candidate will be courteous in dealing with the public; neat and tidy in appearance; work quickly on all aspects of the food service and has excellent Customer Service, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
The successful candidate must be flexible to work Monday to Friday 7:30am-2:30pm. Please note we don't have bus services that run directly to Town Hall.
This position offers an hourly rate of $20.89 per hour.
Satisfactory passing of a vulnerable sector check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for these positions.
