Purpose
Contributes to the overall success in Technology Finance ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Accountabilities
- Maintains the central financial datasets and spreadsheets, including financial results, and master transit/ account hierarchies, used by Technology Finance for planning, forecasting, and reporting. Use different tools to create, update and support the database with strategic decisions.
- Implement automation to increase the team’s efficiency.
- Prime liaison with main technology support team
- Prepares and presents complex financial data and information in a meaningful, concise, and user-friendly manner for Technology Finance management (i.e., data visualization).
- Implements continual improvements to processes and reporting to meet evolving business requirements and best practices.
- Ad hoc analysis and reconciliations on a monthly/quarterly basis
- Champions a client-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

- Demands at month-end/quarter-end are high in terms of financial reporting requirements; must manage workloads and produce high quality output efficiently to meet tight deadlines.
- As a key business partner, must effectively build relationships with the key partners across Finance and Technology
- University degree in business, finance, or equivalent
- Experience working with large datasets / databases
- Proficiency with Excel
- Experience with VBA coding
- Attention to detail is crucial
- Data visualization, data illustrations and automation
- Knowledge of financial and management reporting principles as applied to banking issues, and an understanding of the business planning process, dealing with accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls.
- SQL (would be an asset)
