The Opportunity
We are seeking a hardworking and dependable individual to join our team as a Labourer based in the Sudbury, Ontario area. You will be responsible for performing various general labour tasks such as organizing materials, maintaining the worksite, and operating bagging equipment to fill, weigh, seal, and organize concrete and aggregate bags. Your Day-to-Day
- Maintain the plant by removing trash, debris, and other waste material and perform general plant duties as required
- Safely operate bagging equipment, forklifts, power tools, and other related machinery
- Fill, weigh, seal, and organize concrete and aggregate bags
- Monitor product quality and report inconsistencies and defects
- Ensure products are appropriately labelled and packaged
- Responsible for following all safety protocols and procedures
- Report any issues or damage in the plant to the supervisor immediately
- Perform physically demanding work including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, crouching, climbing, crawling, repetitive reaching, and extended periods of standing throughout the workday
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including inclement weather
- Work extended hours including evenings as required to meet operational and project demands.
- Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required
- Valid G class driver’s license
- Forklift Operator Certificate
- Prior experience working in concrete and/or aggregate industries
- Strong Commitment to safety and teamwork
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to use tools and equipment required to perform the work (e.g. hand and power tools, etc.)
- Ability to perform physical labour and other strenuous physical tasks
- Ability to work as part of a team and a willingness to collaborate on various job duties
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Ability to handle multiple on the go tasks and appropriately prioritize based on operational needs
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients
- Ability to adapt to changing job requirements and schedules
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $28.00 – $29.00 / hour
