As a Meter Reader, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted. Based in Pembroke Pines, FL, you’ll have the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks in the reading and maintenance of water meters. You’ll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to complex challenges that may arise in municipal facilities. You’ll read meters and record readings on an assigned route; ensure meters are functioning properly; report defective meters and meter skip; and interpret and explain readings to customers. You’ll also repair leaks and broken lines; turn meters on and off, install or assist with installation of meters and boxes; and perform other duties as required. Most importantly, you’ll take action to ensure the safety, health and well-being of you and your team.
Here's what you'll need
- A valid driver’s license with no major infractions
- Basic knowledge of plumbing and water meter installation and repair
- Knowledge of the local geography of streets within the city
- Ability to write legibly
- Able to make routine mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately
- Able to deal tactfully and courteously with the public
- Safe work practices
- Good eyesight with or without glasses, able to walk for long periods, must be able to work outside in the heat and rain, must be able to kneel and bend

The base salary range for this position is $36,100.00 to $51,700.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
