Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Specialist to support our child care centres across our BC locations. This role is ideal for a hands-on, solutions-focused professional who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and understands the importance of maintaining safe and compliant environments for children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and reactive maintenance, repairs, and inspections across multiple child care centres
  • Address day-to-day facility issues including plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, painting, flooring, and general repairs
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and compliant
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors as required
  • Participate in centre openings, renovations, and upgrades
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance requests and completed work
  • Ensure all work meets health, safety, and licensing standards
  • Support urgent or after-hours maintenance needs when required

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on maintenance or building operations experience
  • Experience in commercial, institutional, or child care environments is an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of general building systems and repairs
  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and manage priorities across multiple locations
  • Valid BC driver’s license
  • Physically capable of performing maintenance duties (lifting, bending, ladder use, etc.)
  • Strong communication
  • Must have a valid Criminal Record Check (CRC) or be willing to obtain one prior to employment, as required for working in licensed child care environments
