Representative Role Overview
A leading investment firm, private equity group, or corporate development team may seek an Investment Opportunity Analyst to support investment evaluation, financial modeling, and portfolio assessment. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct financial analysis and valuation of potential investment opportunities using 3-statement, DCF, LBO, and scenario models
- Perform industry research, market benchmarking, and competitor analysis to identify high-potential investments
- Support sourcing and evaluation of deals in venture capital, private equity, or corporate investment portfolios
- Prepare investment memoranda, reports, and presentations for senior leadership and investment committees
- Assist in due diligence processes, including financial, operational, and strategic reviews
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support investment decision-making and transaction execution
- Monitor and track the performance of investments post-transaction, providing insights and recommendations
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related discipline
- Strong skills in financial modeling, valuation, and quantitative analysis
- Excellent analytical, research, and communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple investment opportunities and workstreams in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Prior internship or full-time experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate development, or consulting is beneficial
